Below are photos from the studio garden. They may  give you some ideas for your space.

A second feature, a small stream, was put in fall 09

Babe rests in a castor bean leaf as work progressed

This fountain is large and very dramatic.

So is the cat.

See ground fountains, below, to see photos  of "cast" reservoirs. Your system can employ a cast reservoir, raised or sunken, a simple bucket sunken in ground or any pretty plant pot with the drain hole sealed.

Note

These fountains with a reservoir pot can be brought indoors for use in foyer, lobby or any quiet nook in the house to read by - lovely in winter.

Otherwise - all fountain leaves are left out in the winter, with plastic bag for protection.

This double leaf fountain

provides a little extra "tinkle"of water.

They can be designed with drain holes on top leaf and it can be used for holding seed, with the water stream running through lower leaf. Birds will love it!

Ground Fountains

These fountains can be purchased with a cast concrete reservoir as shown directly below

Price is dependant on size and complexity of leaf and whether painted or not

$150 to $250 (for very large leaves)

Reservoirs are cast with a large and textured "lip" to create a sense of a deep and ancient underground spring.

priced separately ($75 to $125)

The reservoir can be replaced with a simple bucket, sunken to and disguised easily with spanish moss.

The chickadees  favoured this little fountain. With (finch)  bird seed sprinkled on the leaves, the whole family was gathering to get seeds and bathe in the throat of the leaf.

Sheer pleasure to watch.

I set this up in a spot where the birds could do lookout  for any cats.

This is a reservoir cast with leaf texture.

Designed to be sunk or sit on ground level.

Above ground Reservoir Pots

The cement leaf wraps around a terra cotta pot

These are plugged pots to retain water. This allows for indoor use of fountain.

Available as planters as well! (not plugged)

The pump for this fountain below is hidden in the pond or stream - this type of fountain can be set into the landscape many ways.

If set in dirt or on rock shelving, several leaves can be incorporated.

These two pond side fountain/feeders are attractive to the small birds as well.

The leaves are cast with deep pockets on each side to hold small seeds.

The water is circulated from the pond to leaf in a small rivulet, something the sparrows and chickadees use as a bathwater.

The leaf on the left is painted with acrylic paints.

Prices range from$100 to $250, dependant on complexity and size of leaf.

Price includes pump and tubing.

Rain Catchers /Bird Feeders

These are designed as  a catchment basin to hold water

They can be cast, at request, to hold seed only with drainage holes for rain water.

Sold, painted, with stand $175
